Television is called The other parent because of the amount of time children spend in its company. Nowadays it has become a part and parcel of life. I would cal TV as an Idiot's Box. Its of no use as it tends to spoil our entire culture. Though it has so many good programs to watch out but people are keen to watch useless shows. The lack of Social Responsibility in many media companies as they cater to stockholders over children had meant that children are exposed to sex, coarseness, violence and commercialism long before they are ready to understand them. We cannot just point out media alone for this cause as everyone has some part to play in spoiling a child's mind. In India, the majority of the indian homes are one-room homes where children watch whatever the adults watch. Parents will need to make more of an effort to understand what children absorb from the media they consume. I dont say that TV should be fully avoided. It has so many positive points to number out. TV is very much essential in everyone's life not only children but all. Its a must need in our present century but what i want to say is, it should be in a right composition for each and every age group so that our people get maximum out of it.
