Why does India always get trapped in BIG tournaments? Why does it happen everytime? And the record show it.. Its worse. India's last 22 finals. 18 - losses, 2- Won, 2 - Shared. It is exactly the other way round. This seems devastating. Why does it happen to Indian Team alone?
Is it bcoz of the heavy cricket played all thru the year or the huge expectations from the supporters or the high n over confidence the Indian Team hv. or is it bcoz of the pressure from media or is it bcoz of the commercial ads spoiling all or is there any politics going around. Final hurdle... Mendis - the man of the moment who changed the history at the last moment... Everyone expeceted this Asia Cup was a one sided tournament and expected n dreamnt of India winning the Asia cup 2008 and so as the other nations but it was not to be. It went the other way. The man - AJANTHA MENDIS turned it around.
Jayasurya's spectacular 125 and the unforgettable six-wicket haul by Mendis left the Indians deprived of yet another title win. The Dhoni led one day team, just out of the IPL fever, collapsed miserably against the Lankan tigers, who roared their way to a 100 run win, lifting the Asia Cup. This is one of the many instances when the Indians have fallen prey to the 'final-jinx' owing to a hectic schedule. Out of the 12 encounters where India has faced Sri Lanka in finals, this was its sixth defeat in the last eight years and thirteenth defeat of the 17 tournament finals in the same period, two of them being abandoned due to rain. Blame it to the 'burn-out' due to the packed schedule or plain bad luck, but the jinx fails to break. Many believe that it is the lack of ample rest prevents the team from giving it their best, by the time they reach the finals. Couple it with the ever mounting pressure and expectations of the huge fan following back home that plays on the mind of the players. The rotation policy and focus on both mental and physical fitness seems to be the key at the moment. Newsline caught up with some of the cricket experts to find out what their opinion on Dhoni's brigade and the 'final-jinx' owing to a hectic schedule
Excess of everything is bad. The amount of cricket that Indian cricketers have played over the last few months has been too much and they have been playing continuously. We need a wider pool of talent to keep all the players fresh and follow proper rotation policy even if we are playing a final. The players are following a hectic schedule and if skipper Dhoni is saying that he needs a break, I guess something has to be done in this case. We cannot change what is happening. We can only hope this situation Changes for the Indian team.

Yes unfortunately india's terrible show at the finals continues... Quite pathetic... Unfortunately the Indian team is responsible for making heroes of the opponents... This time it was the new kid - Mendis.
P.S : Dude... Old picture...! No rahul in the team :P
May be India is trying to make an 'Infamous' world record. Hey,thats possible !
