The heat is one as the India-Srilanka Idea Cup Test series is nearing. All are waiting for the BIG Three to join the arena after a wide a gap. The series is all set to start with a big bang. Lots of commosions here and there about the man who changed the game in ASIA CUP final - AJANTHA MENDIS. Will he be included in the playing eleven for the first test to roll on coming 23rd this month? The eager anticipation from both the countries is still on the hold. Srilanka is deprived of experience and senior players in the batting line up as when compared to the roaring INDIANS very eager to beat the Srilankan's on their home soil after they lost to them in ASIA CUP final. Test cricket is all about standards and the one who plays well gets away with a win. It all depends on the test of scrutiny and patience. Hmmm lets wait and see. The whole world is waiting for the series to kick off as some new rules have been introduced into the game. It is about the reviewing a umpire's decision. Each team hs got 3 reviews per innings. Either the captain or the batsmen who is involved in the incident alone has the right to apply to the 3rd umpire to review the decision. This facilitates more accuracy in the decisions taken and also alleviates the team to improvise their strategies. MR Benson (England) and BR Doctrove (West Indies) are the onfield umpires and RE Koertzen (South Africa) is the third umpire and he will be more interested looking forward to the first test to start. The expected teams for the first test areIndia
1 Gautam Gambhir, 2 Virender Sehwag, 3 Rahul Dravid, 4 Sachin Tendulkar, 5 Sourav Ganguly, 6 VVS Laxman, 7 Dinesh Karthik (wk), 8 Anil Kumble, 9 Harbhajan Singh, 10 Zaheer Khan, 11 Ishant Sharma.
Sri Lanka
1 Michael Vandort, 2 Malinda Warnapura, 3 Kumar Sangakkara, 4 Mahela Jayawardene (capt), 5 Thilan Samaraweera, 6 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 7 Prasanna Jayawardene (wk), 8 Chaminda Vaas, 9 Nuwan Kulasekera, 10 Muttiah Muralitharan, 11 Ajantha Me
Everything is set for the first test to start except the weather. It looks very gloomy and heavy showers are expected in the coming days as it is the monsoon season in Srilanka. Anyway lets hope for the best and lets pray that rain doesnt interfere with the match.
Cmon India! Dee Kaa Dhooo!!!
